The FCMG philosophy on Gospel Magic

Rehearsal techniques – how do I rehearse successfully
Klaus Hasselbacher, identical sessions at Thursday 15:15-16:15 and 16:45-17:45
This seminar teaches different methods and ways to enhance our rehearsal of moves and routines. Beginning with the selection of the topic (which routine suits me and my abilities?) we will go on talking about salami slicing, mental and pantomimic rehearsal, advantages and disadvantages of using a mirror and of using music. There will be interesting themes like “the flowerpot principle of rehearsal intervals”. All of this is going to be demonstrated on the basis of a false transfer

D1: Pannel discussion about our declaration against abuse [B+A]

We discuss our declaration against abuse and violation which can be signed by members
host: Volker de Haas, Thursday 16:45-17:45
What can we do as prevention? What is our responsibility as a fellowship? What challenge do we see as a consequence of massive exposures of child abuse during the last few month and the role of Christians in these cases? How do we deal severely with the fear to pass individual borders in physical contacts on stage? These are important questions we want to hold off the AGM. Therefore we would like to give a chance to discuss them beforehand.
Skills needed:Interest in or questions about this topic
Equipment needed:None

S3: The magic effect [B+A]

What makes a magic routine strong?
Martin Hensel, Thursday 19:30-22:00
Most important for a good show is the quality of the presentation. Right after that comes the magic effect. What is that all about? How do you build up a routine from a magic point of view? Which factors contribute to the deception? How do you get a strong effect? What are the big DON´Ts?
Skills needed:You have presented a routine before.
Equipment needed:None

The secret of good comedy

The flexagon is based upon mostly unknown mathematical principles which were discovered as late as 1939. Meanwhile we have started a series of articles in the “Zauberstab” about the so-called flexagons. These articles are taken out of Bob Hill´s manual. During the workshop we will make up 2 to 3 paper flexagons, give instructions on how to build more solid ones and also exchange our experiences with these props.

In this seminar Marc will give us a whole lot of ideas and effects for a show at Christmas time. How do I put a winter or Christmas touch to my children’s, stand up, mental or close up program? Since Marc is not a gospel magician we will not see gospel magic here. Nonetheless there will be ideas that are helpful to develop routines with a Christian message.
